The Entertation Index: October 20

October 20, 2009

Collins, Phil – The former Genesis drummer and singer reveals to a German newspaper that a surgery he had in April to repair a damaged vertebra has left him unable to drum.  This means Aerosmith will have to take up the slack making crappy soundtracks to crappy movies.

English, Todd – Celebrity chef Todd English, who has appeared on Bravo’s Top Chef, called off his wedding to Erica Wang after she allegedly assaulted him with a wristwatch.  This may not have been the first time she went after him with a non-weaponish household item: rumor has it she also attempted to impale him with a feather-duster, saying she was going to “put some English on it.”

Kardashian, Kourtney – The reality show actress returned home from dinner Saturday night to find her home burglarized.  The thief or thieves stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and gifts from her late father.  Even more dastardly, the burglar supposedly left several copies of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Season 1 DVDs.

Madonna – A neighbor in Madge’s apartment building on Central Park has complained about the extremely disruptive loud noise and vibrations coming from Madonna’s apartment.  The building’s board says it has threatened to evict Madonna before, but that she sent a small army of masked, leather-clad dancers to freak on the board members until they gave in.

Portman, NataliePeople magazine reveals that a Revlon scout discovered Natalie Portman at a pizza parlor in 1999: “I kept my cool.  I told him that I wanted to act.”  Does this sound a little creepy to anyone else?  Hanging around a GattiTown and telling 9-year-old girls that they could totally be in magazines?

Winfrey, Oprah – Perhaps the Nobel Peace Prize was given out too early.  Last Friday Oprah brokered a conciliatory meeting between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, the first contact the two have had since their 1997 match when Tyson bit off part of Holyfield’s ear.  During the detente there was no cartilage munching, just low-whispering and neck-nibbling, and Tyson presented Holyfield with the chunk of ear he had kept on ice for this occasion.
