The Entertation Index: November 20

November 20, 2009

Ferrell, Will — The funnyman topped the consistently starstruck Forbes‘ most recent list/excuse not to do work, as the magazine released its rankings for Hollywood’s Most Overpaid Stars, focusing on “actors who cost more to hire than their box office worth.” I’d like to add the staff of Forbes to my list of “journalists who would rather surf TMZ all day than write about financial news.”

Hudson, Kate — The actress appeared on Oprah Wednesday to promote her upcoming movie Nine when the big O asked how she and Yankee infielder/main squeeze Alex Rodriguez met. After hemming and hawing, Hudson finally admitted it was “like, randomly,” which admittedly is better than the truth that  “like, I was on the list of ‘to-do’ starlet names he keeps scrawled on the back of a Wendy’s receipt in his wallet.”

Kardashian, Khloe — An inside source at “Hip Hop Rx” (which is where I get all my hip hop prescriptions filled) says that behind closed doors, the Lamar Odom/Khloe Kardashian marriage is on the rocks. The source divulges Odom’s confidential claims that whenever he calls her “baby,” she starts drooling like Pavlov’s dog.

Pattinson, Robert — The pale, British nosferatu tells Entertainment Weekly that for Twilight: Eclipse, “in many ways the hair was 75 percent of the performance.”  So if you’re doing the math, the magic cocktail of Pattinson is made up of 75% hair, 15% brooding emo attitude, 5% sexual objectification by receptionists, 3% adrenaline from Mario Lopez compliments and 2% talent. Oh, wait. Make that 1% talent and 1% the luck to play a character that likely anyone would have become famous playing. Serve cold.

Pitt, Brad — The actor recently turned down an appearance at the Grand Prix Abu Dhabi, which would have paid $5 million, to spend time with his children. So says Life & Style Magazine, which then promptly paid Pitt $6 million for exclusive pictures of him spending time with his children.

Swift, Taylor — The country/pop star is suing the Sports Cellar, a bar in Idaho, for allegedly playing her music without paying for the right. The nerve, playing music. In a bar. For people. If you’re listening, Beyoncé, I’m playing your album right now — and nobody I’m playing it for has paid me to hear it. Come get me!
