The Entertation Index: January 6

January 6, 2010

Cattrall, Kim — The famed Sex and the City “cougar,” currently starring in a production of Noel Coward’s Private Lives in London’s West End, tells reporters that she happens to be a huge fan of mass transit. This seems only fitting from a woman who, in certain circles, is known by the nickname “The Holland Tunnel.”

Lee, Christopher — Sometimes there are things in this world so weird that they’re absolutely beautiful. Like this: 87 year-old Christopher Lee — yes, that Christopher Lee — is releasing an album of “symphonic metal.” About Charlemagne. And produced by Kylie Minogue’s producer. And you can listen to bits of it here. You’re welcome.

Fortune, Wheel of — I’ll let you decide this one, folks…does the fact that none of these people seem to know who Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa are mean that they’re stupid, or that they’re living in a world of their own which is much, much better than ours? Watch this fantastic series of faux pas (even Pat can’t believe it) and discuss among yourselves.

Penn, Sean — The Oscar-winning actor has, allegedly rejoined the cast of the Farrelly Brothers’ upcoming Three Stooges movie, which also stars Benecio Del Toro and Jim Carrey. This comes as fantastic news to everyone who, after Penn left the project initially, feared that this movie wouldn’t be completely terrible.

Slater, Christian — The Heathers and Pump Up the Volume star, a former high school dropout, recently went back to school and recently received his diploma. Apparently, the hold-up was that he kept failing his “Relevancy” class. But we kid because we care. Actually, snark aside, he did this for his kids, which is pretty cool.

Stone, Sharon — The Basic Instinct villainess will pantsuit up for a guest storyline on Law & Order: SVU. “It’s like this role was written just for me,” Stone said of her upcoming role as “Aging, Self-Satisfied Weirdo #2.”
