The Entertation Index: September 14
Cher — The 64 year-old singer showed up at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night in the same skimpy outfit she made famous by wearing in the 1989 video for the number one hit “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Consequently, all those who saw her wearing it Sunday night wished they could do precisely that.

Cyrus, Billy Ray — The country singer has inked a deal with the Syfy network in which Cyrus and his son Trace will investigate “allegations of cover-up and conspiracy around unexplained phenomena has inspired heated debate for decades.” You know, like lost alternate verses to “Saturday Night Special,” the way your wife’s sister’s kids always know where you hid the Keystone Light, and how thermoses work.

Opera, Klingon — Art-lovers of Farnsberg, Germany will be among the first to see an “authentic Klingon opera” written by members of Dutch troupe Klingon Terran Research Ensemble and detailing the legend of Kahless the Unforgettable, the first Klingon emperor. Sci-fi and opera fans alike are looking forward to the premiere, which for most will likely include a nice dinner, the production itself, and never, ever having ever had sex before.

Smith, Willow — Nine year-old singer Willow Smith, the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith and whose first single “Whip My Hair” has become a bit of a YouTube sensation, has landed a record deal with Jay-Z’s elite Roc Nation label. You know, it’s always heartwarming when a young girl armed with nothing but a dream, a tireless work ethic and a dad who knows Jay-Z makes something of herself.

White, Betty — On top of appearing in two upcoming films, popping up in several cameos in this season’s fall programming, starring in commercials, signing on to write two books and guest-starring in an episode of Nick at Nite’s claymation sitcom Glen Martin DDS, comic book manufacturer Bluewater Productions has announced that it will also be sketching White for its “Female Force: Betty White” comic book in November and…hey, you know what? That’s enough Betty White. Seriously. It’s a novelty that’s gotten way out of hand. Let’s move on.

Zuckerberg, Mark — An upcoming New Yorker piece confirms that Facebook CEO (and seriously awesome, super-nice guy) Marc Zuckerberg once openly mocked the social media website’s users, noting in an instant message “They trust me — dumb fucks.” I’m a dumb fuck, you say? I’m just a guy trying to gain members for my online mafia family, keep my internet crops growing and help sick animals get better in my cyber-zoo, thank you very much.
