America, The Voice Of – This spring, NBC will premier The Voice of America, a singing competition that will compete with Fox’s American Idol and The X Factor.  Asked why they would create another reality show featuring singers, the producers said they didn’t think there was enough mind-numbing TV programming or crappy, safe, completely generic and radio-friendly pop cross-over music on the airwaves.

Doherty, Pete – The Libertines will have to share Doherty with the big screen, as the singer will play the lead role in a biopic about 19^th century French writer Alfred de Musset.  Doherty doesn’t know how he scored the role, but the director says he simply looked the part of a man who has been dead for 153 years.

Grey, Jennifer – This year’s Dancing With The Stars winner recently had back surgery, during which doctors removed a “huge fragment.”  It turned out to be a large, sour grape, thought to have been placed there by Bristol Palin.

Hudgfron, Zacnessa – Sources say that High School Musical stars and real-life sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have ended their relationship mutually and amicably.  This is sad on many levels, but mostly because these young, rich, famous, good-looking actors will probably never ever ever find someone else willing to date them.

Movies, Socially Conscious – It’s rare that a movie so ambitiously, yet delicately and deftly, explores themes ranging from genetically modified organisms to firearm proliferation to the perils faced by sex workers.  Roid Rage is that movie for 2011, and perhaps the decade.  Watch for its release next year.

Sting – According to his wife, fitness expert Trudie Styler, Sting doesn’t have any physical “trouble spots” and has great glutes.  He attributes this to his early work on Ten Summoner’s Tails.
