The Entertation Index: August 22

August 22, 2011

An early still shot from the new "Sex and the City" film.

City, Sex and the – Sarah Jessica Parker says that SATC will get a third movie: “I know what the story is. It’s a small story, but I think it should be told. The question is, what’s the right time to tell it?”  If the right time is now, the they’ll be shoe-shopping at Payless, hunting for clothes at Goodwill, and lunching on old cigarette butts and “greens” taken from NYC window boxes.

Fitch, Abercrombie & – The apparel company is paying Jersey Shore cast member Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino NOT to wear its product, saying it was “deeply concerned that Sorrentino’s character could cause significant damage to the brand’s aspirational nature and may be distressing to customers.”  If you’re not already distressed by paying handsomely for clothing that you’ll simply remove to chop wood or jump off a houseboat into a lake, I doubt you’ll be distressed seeing The Situation in your brand.

Hathaway, Anne – To fit into the famous Catwoman suit, Hathaway says she has existed for a while now on “kale and dust.”  This is similar to the “Dust and Dust” diet that has allowed some actresses to fit into P.O. boxes.

Lohan, Lindsay – Lohan is bringing suit against rapper Pitbull for a line in his new song “Give Me Everything”: “Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein’, to keep flowin’ / I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.”  She claims that “the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.”  Lohan is using the “irreparable harm” clause to sue herself as well.

Rowland, Kelly – The former Destiny’s Child singer and The X Factor judge will not coddle contestants, since that’s not the treatment they’ll receive in the industry.  “Since I started judging The X Factor I’ve heard so many kids explain how hard they’ve worked.   Even their parents will tell me: ‘She practised, so don’t be mean.’  But I have been in the exact same position and been turned down so many times.  So when people say I don’t know what they’re going through, let me tell you – I know it all.”  Apparently these parents think that The X Factor is an elementary school play about the multiplication tables.

Sheen, Charlie – Emilio Estevez says that his troubled younger brother has gotten himself together, starring in a new show and even being slated to be roasted by Comedy Central.  We thought he was already roasted, though.
