The Entertation Index: December 1
Chap-Hop — About three years ago, a British medium called “chap-hop,” began to highlight two well-known English rappers who had donned the alter egos “Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer” and “Professor Elemental” to spit lyrics about topics like fisticuffs and cricket in colonial and turn of the century phraseology. Now we have them on film from a London club a few months ago, throwing down in a very proper rap battle. Enjoy.

Craig, Daniel — The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo star spoke very candidly with British GQ, ranting about the Kardashians by saying “You see that and you think, ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f*cking idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions?'” Oh, Daniel Craig. You had us at James Bond, but now we’ll love you forever. Although to be honest, the Kardashians are quite like Bond villains: Kim can’t feel pain, mother Kris won’t stop until she’s reached world domination, and Khloe walks around everywhere with, we can assume, must be a giant cat in her lap. If you get me.

Mifflin, Dunder — The office supply box store Staples has announced plans to partner with NBC Universal to sell a new brand of paper — priced higher than regular copy paper — which will bear the name and packaging of The Office’s fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin. So here’s your chance to spend more money to get special “Dunder Mifflin paper.” Or, as your friends and co-workers who don’t care call it, “regular paper.”

O’Neal, Patrice — Controversial and outspoken comedian Patrice O’Neal succumbed to complications from an October stroke yesterday and passed away at 41. He was loud and brash, but never anything less than entertaining, and our thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Piracy — A Caribbean porn producer has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in federal court after discovering that at least nine people in the Metro Detroit area illegally downloaded his films, hoping to receive money for damages and to block the perpetrators from doing so in the future. Legal analysts are shocked — not that a porn producer could win this suit, but that there might be the possibility of illegal things going on in the Caribbean OR Detroit.

World War II — A twitter feed calling itself @realtimewwii, which on August 31 began tweeting the events of World War II with Hitler’s invasion of Poland, recently began documenting the the Soviet attack on Finland with the tweet “10:30AM: 9 Russian planes bombing central Helsinki. Not a single bomb hit central railway station, but 40 people dead.” It’s a novel idea, to be sure, but it’s sure going to freak the hell out of your great-grandpa when you try to teach him how to use Twitter.
