Anniversaries — It’s a good time for anniversaries right now, with Wednesday being the fifteenth anniversary of the Coen Bros.’ purely magnificent detective-noir comedy The Big Lebowski, the twentieth anniversary of Radiohead’s Pablo Honey and a forty year anniversary celebration of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Yep, we’re all getting really, really old.

Davis, Geena — Academy-Award-winning actress Geena Davis slammed the recent Oscars, accusing host Seth MacFarlane’s jokes of being disrespectful toward women and stating that the jokes only help to “illustrate how tone-deaf we can still be regarding the status of women.” Then Davis realized people could see her and quickly ran back into the cave where she has lived since she wrapped filming on Stuart Little in 1999.

Hobbit, The — With the second installment of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit series due out in theaters in December 13, Warner Brothers has announced that Jackson has pushed back the release date of the third installment until December of 2014 from its original mid-2014 projected date. But that’s okay because, like most Peter Jackson films, the running time for the second installment is estimated to be roughly ten months anyway.

Swift, Taylor — Grammy Winning physical 23 year-old/mental 12 year-old Taylor Swift spoke to Vanity Fair about her unhappiness concerning Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey’s and Amy Poehler’s jokes at Swift’s expense, saying that afterward Katie Couric told the singer “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Be sure to catch Swift’s latest single, “You Are Totally, Totally Going to Hell, Awards Show Hosts.” But will you be able to guess who it’s about?
